What is the best coding assistant for Laravel PHP? The dimensions for choosing: 1. What AI models are supported? 2. Does it include an IDE? 3. Does it include a Git client? 4. How does AI billing work? via assistant, via the frontier model subscription, via the frontier model AI With recent changes to Claude billing, the mode of billing became important. Possibly, this will be followed by other frontier models. My choice from last year is PHPStorm with Codex CLI. PHPStorm is an IDE itself. But now I'm reconsidering alternatives: 1. Cursor 2. Codex from OpenAI with Zed as IDE. 3. Zed with Codex credentials 4. Polyscope from BeyondCode. Not an IDE. Tailored for Laravel. The billing matter complicated their usage of Claude What is your choice?

Cursor free plan has an extremely limited usage quota. Asked: 1. Change the PHP version for an empty Laravel PHP project 2. Make it a Git repository - locally Done beautifully and wiped the quota. Codex and Claude's free plan is much more generous.
